Remodeled Gardens Cafe at Birmingham Botanical Gardens PREVIEW EVENT

The day finally arrived.  After several weeks of out with the old and in with the new along with lots of cleaning and painting, the brand new and totally remodeled Gardens Cafe opened on February 23 with a special “Preview Event” that was attended by more than 60 friends and wedding professionals – And even Birmingham’s mayor, William Bell. The Cafe has new floors, gorgeous new light fixtures, new tables and chiavari chairs, new paint on the walls, and best of all a new modern attitude… This is not your grandmothers’ Cafe! (more…)

NOW is the Time to Book Spring ’12 Weddings!

We are rapidly approaching prime engagement season.  According to a study by the Condé Nast Bridal Group, nearly 20% of all engagements take place over the holidays. To give you some perspective, that’s more than November and January COMBINED – And it far surpasses February, when marriage proposals are often tied to Valentine’s Day. What does all this mean?  Simply stated, if you’ve got your ring and you’d like to marry in the spring or summer of 2012, then you’d best lock in a venue BEFORE all the Christmas and New Years engagements take place. Back on August 17th, Kathy G & Company had a truly AMAZING day!

Andy Hopper and the team at KG Designs put together THREE separate photo shoots for the upcoming issue of Alabama Weddings Magazine and Kathy G filmed TWO cooking segments for NBC 13’s Daytime Alabama – All before lunch!!! The incredibly talented folks at Kinora Films were there to capture it all and put together a fun “Behind the Scenes” music video conveying all the excitement of Kathy G & Company’s big day. Birmingham Botanical Gardens Splendor – Revisiting a GORGEOUS Wedding from 1 Year Ago

Brittany Miller and Cameron Thorne were joined in holy matrimony on May 22, 2010 in the Birmingham Botanical Gardens with a reception at the Gardens Cafe.  To this day, it’s still one of our most favorite weddings and when when located photos taken by the incredible Breanna Fogg of Breanna Fogg Photography (205.222.8484), we simply had to post them. Floral and design was handled by Andy Hopper of KG Designs by Kathy G (205.942.4210) and it was SIMPLY GORGEOUS!!!! (more…)

David & Grace’s Wedding at the Garden’s Cafe

Saturday, March 26th was a wedding for the ages at the Garden’s Cafe as the newly married David and Grace Humber celebrated with nearly 200 guests.  for an entire week leading up to the occasion, we had been checking the weather seemingly on the hour as rain was in the forecast, but happily it stayed away and the gorgeous couple married outdoors in the Botanical Gardens without so much as a sprinkle.
