Kathy G & Company has always been Birmingham’s “go-to” caterer for corporate events of all sizes, but when the law firm of White, Arnold & Dowd called on us to create a “Shrimp Fest” for 150 guests at the Gardens Cafe, we knew this event was gonna be something special. Not only did they request several delicious shrimp dishes, they also wished that they be served in unique vessels that would be both great conversation starters and lots of fun. A spicy “Bayou Boil” of Creole Seasoned Shrimp, Anduille Sausage, New Potatoes and Baby Corn served in “personal pails” was just one of the amazing offerings that event coordinator Tamara Archer and chef Jason Mezrano served up to rave reviews! Once the votes were in, it was time to celebrate a group of Magic City residents, beautiful both inside and out, named to Birmingham Magazine’s 2012 Beautiful People list. But before more than 500 folks partied the night away at WorkPlay, Kathy G and her team worked tirelessly with presenting sponsor Brookwood Medical Center and top party pros such as JAMM Entertainment Services, AG Lighting, and Dorothy McDaniel’s Flower Market in putting together an event for the ages. Last night, Kathy G & Company headed on up to Gus Mayer at the Summit as a sponsor of the 2nd Annual “Gus Mayer Goes Pink” event. As the official caterer, the KG team served up our most popular new hors d’oeuvre, Herb-Crusted Roast Chicken over Fava Bean Pesto on Crostinis along with delicious Thai flank Steak Phyllo Tarts, and our famous Belgium Endive with Whipped Bleu Cheese and Candied Walnuts… But the real story was the fashion! Kathy G and Company was honored to, once again, cater the Birmingham Zoo Gala this past Saturday night, September 19. The annual “black tie optional” event attracts the Magic City’s finest as hundreds of guests gather to raise funds for (in our opinion) the greatest zoo in all the South!!! This year’s event was as fun as ever with plenty of furry visitors for the guests to meet up close as well as a sit-down dinner overlooking the Trails of Africa’s wonderful new elephant exhibit.
