Caitlin & Matthew Take Flight on Their Wedding Day!

When Rachel Rhodes Grammer of Two Hearts Weddings and Events invited the Kathy G team to both cater and design for Caitlin and Matthew’s March 10th wedding, we knew it was gonna be a truly special event.  You see, they weren’t having their big day in what one would call a “traditional” venue.  No, this gorgeous young couple was having their wedding at the Southern Museum of Flight! One of the more remarkable museums anywhere in the South, the SMOF was a fantastic backdrop to this fun and flirty wedding. With florals and decor designed by Andy Hopper of KG Designs, photographer Gretchen B. had gorgeous shots everywhere she looked. The highlight of menu was the seafood bar encased within a gorgeous ice structure that had the words, “Love is in the air” carved underneath an airplane that was etched into the ice. It was a magical evening at a most incredible venue and we can’t thank Rachel at Two Hearts enough for allowing us to play such an integral role in Caitlin and Matthew’s big day. We wish this super-fun young couple much success in the future and, most of all, that after their fairytale wedding they live happily every after. Christy & Keith’s “Wedding with a View”

On September 10th, 2011, the gorgeous Christy Rhodes and her dashing groom, Keith Allen, tied the knot at half past four in the afternoon.  What made this wedding so incredible was as they say in the real estate biz… Location, location, location.  Christy and Keith’s wedding took place at the romantic Gorham’s Bluff inn Pisgah, Alabama and the Kathy G team was so very excited to play such a big role in their big day. The venue was spectacular.  Its views jaw-dropping.  And the elements of this wedding – down to the tiniest details – were picture perfect. Event planner, Kerri Kelley of Kerri Kelley Weddings, assembled an all-star team of vendors for this special day and to say she knocked it outta the park is an understatement of epic proportions. Andy Hopper of KG Designs expertly handled all of Christy’s floral and decor wishes while Taylor Haynie Photography captured countless dazzling photographs thought the event. Allison & Marshall’s White Wedding – The Very First Kathy G. Wedding at The Donnelly House!

Allison & Marshall’s White Wedding – The Very First Kathy G. Wedding at The Donnelly House!

When Birmingham wedding planner Neillie Butler of Mariée Ami called to say she was looking at venues for Allison and Marshall’s elegant reception in mid-December, we were thrilled to share the news that Kathy G & Company was about to become the exclusive caterer at the historic Donnelly House and that the gorgeous mansion would indeed be available on their desired date of Saturday, the seventeenth.  Working in tandem with Kathy G event coordinator Tamara Archer, Neillie planned an incredible “all white” wedding that will go down as not only one of our best events of 2011, but also the VERY FIRST wedding our team executed at the amazing Donnelly House. White linens, white floral centerpieces, and white bridal bouquets helped Allison realize the traditional and elegant look that she’d always envisioned.  Though KG Designs‘ lead designer Andy Hopper had a few tricks up his sleeve so that her décor was both modern and inspired – Perfect for this stunning and trendsetting bride. As for the meal, more than 250 guests enjoyed one of the more original menus the Kathy G team has prepared in some time. A Beef Bourguignonne/Chicken Marsala Station delighted guests with two delectable dishes offered up by chefs in chic Cosmo Glasses. While Sesame Crusted Wonton Cracker with Julienned Beet “Salad” and Crumbled Goat Cheese with Arugula, Honey Maple Ham on White Cheddar Biscuits with Orange Butter, and Sweet Potato Beignets with Jack Daniels Dipping Sauce also proved incredibly popular with all in attendance. Everything about Allison and Marshall’s wedding was fabulous and this can be attributed to the tireless efforts of their wedding planner Neillie and her ability to work so well with our team led by event coordinator, Tamara Archer, and lead designer, Andy Hopper. We’re so excited to be the working with The Donnelly House moving forward and are extremely proud of our very first wedding at this gorgeous venue. Big thanks to Mandy Busby of MB Photo for these spectacular photographs… And of course, congratulations to the happy couple!
