KG Designs’ “American Village Ballroom Wedding” as seen in Alabama Weddings Magazine

Back in August, Andy Hopper and the KG Designs team contacted the fine folks at American Village as well as one of Birmingham Alabama’s most extraordinary wedding photographers, Terry Bruno of Fotowerks, and arranged for a stunning photo shoot that would appear in the pages of Alabama Weddings Magazine’s 2012 edition.  With cheerful color choices including an emphasis on pink and orange, lush floral arrangements, and incredible attention to detail, this American Village Ballroom Wedding is pure eye candy for brides, brides-to-be, and wedding décor enthusiasts alike. Wearing the “Eva” by Vera Wang, our bride was gorgeous as she clutched her orange, pink and green bouquet of scabiosa balls, scabiosa peonies, Juliet garden roses, lamb’s ear, cox cone, and hanging amaranths. For the “reception,” the American Village Ballroom was incredibly romantic – The result details done in soft peach, coral cream, and gold. Though the true eye-catchers were Andy Hopper’s over-sized floral arrangements that included snapdragons, ememurus, orange garden golden roses, hypericum berries, hydrangeas, green trick, and carnations along with apples, peaches, lemons and limes. Andy Hopper and the team also arranged for pink gobo lighting on the ceiling as well as an illuminated monogram on the ballroom’s gorgeous hardwood floors. Cream and peach colored satin ribbons accented the gold Chivari chairs – pulling together the room’s bright and romantic feel. We are forever grateful to everyone who helped make this most amazing photo shoot happen. Kathy G’s American Village “Sunflower Rehearsal Dinner” – As Seen in Alabama Weddings Magazine

About six months ago, the Kathy G and KG Designs crews teamed up with the fabulously talented photographer, Terry Bruno of Fotowerks, and headed on up to American Village so as to put together a spectacular photo shoot which has just recently been featured in Alabama Weddings Magazine! With dazzling sunflowers everywhere you looked and a delicious feast fit for Southern royalty, it’s one of our favorite shoots to date and we’re so excited now that the magazine is finally on the news stands – Because now you can all see the gorgeous results of our hard work! Set inside the romantic Barn at American Village, hundreds of cheerful sunflowers were clearly the “stars” of our rehearsal dinner production, but other more subtle elements truly set the tone for this “casual chic” affair. Simple burlap tablecloths, Manzanita branches with hanging votives, rich green moss runners on the tables, mahogany Chiavari chairs, and rustic wicker chargers all played integral roles in the fabulous design conceived by Andy Hopper and his band of floral artisans at KG Designs. Mini green hydrangeas, green hypericum berries, yellow and cream roses, as well as carefully placed citrus rounded out the decor – Giving the venue a warm loving appeal perfect for the merging of two families. As for the meal itself, the evening’s menu was sure to please any Southern foodie with delectable marinated olives, patty pan squash, French green beans, asparagus, and a Greek Feta and mint salad. Grilled brushetta with whipped ricotta and prosciutto, Brussels sprouts, baby tri-colored carrots, orzo salad with lime cilantro and Israeli cous cous were other delightful offerings. And a main entree of herb-roasted poussin over tri-colored potato rounded out the meal – served with local summer vegetables and honey-lemon thyme jus. We are forever grateful to everyone who helped make this photo shoot happen.
