“Celebrate Birmingham” with the Mayor & Rihanna

After the string of devastating tornadoes ripped through Alabama, pop singer Rihanna pledged to do all she could in attempt to help out – Saying she wanted to add a very special benefit show to her “LOUD” tour. This past Monday, July 11, the superstar made good on that promise, bringing her amazing act to The Magic City and Kathy G & Company was there – Catering both the pre & post show VIP celebrations. With a concert event of this magnitude planned on such short notice,  The Honorable Mayor William A. Bell, Sr. and his staff called on Kathy G to make certain that all of the city’s “movers and shakers” were treated to a VIP event like no other. Immediately, Kathy coordinated a plan that would WOW guest all night long.  Andy Hopper of KG Designs would take care of all the “lounge” furniture, geometric cubes for food display, and florals. Alex Garmon of AG Lighting handled the pipe draping, “industrial” bar set-ups, and the dramatic lighting that transformed the space we created into a lounge that reminiscent of New York City’s best nightclubs. Chefs Alan and Jason in the Kathy G kitchen put together an incredible menu fit for Birmingham Royalty. Delectable offerings enjoyed by all included Grilled Beef Tenderloin, Mini BLTs, Crabcakes on Lime, Chili Glazed Shrimp and desserts of Coconut Pyramids with Chocolate Drizzle, Lemon Bars, Creme Brulee on Spoons, and Red Velvet Cake Pops. And of course there was the Rihanna “LOUD” show which was incredible in every way. Fans packed the BJCC for the amazing performance and more than $250,000 was raised for tornado relief in both Tuscaloosa and Birmingham. It truly was an awesome evening on every level. We at Kathy G & Company would like to express gratitude to our good friend, The Honorable Mayor William A. Bell, Sr. for calling on us to share the experience and, of course, HUGE thanks to Rihanna for helping so many Alabamians! To see more pics from this event, please visit our Facebook album...
