Birmingham Botanical Gardens Splendor – Revisiting a GORGEOUS Wedding from 1 Year Ago

Brittany Miller and Cameron Thorne were joined in holy matrimony on May 22, 2010 in the Birmingham Botanical Gardens with a reception at the Gardens Cafe.  To this day, it’s still one of our most favorite weddings and when when located photos taken by the incredible Breanna Fogg of Breanna Fogg Photography (205.222.8484), we simply had to post them. Floral and design was handled by Andy Hopper of KG Designs by Kathy G (205.942.4210) and it was SIMPLY GORGEOUS!!!!     Congratulations once again to Brittany and Cameron. May your everyday be filled with as much love as seen in the stunning photos above....

Iberia Bank Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting in Vestavia Hills

At Kathy G & Company, we LOVE to do corporate events so when Vestavia Hills welcomed their newest business to town – with the grand opening of Iberia Bank at 613 Montgomery Highway – we were THRILLED to take part!  More than 300 guests gathered for the May 19th affair that promised live music, a “moon walk” jumpy, Bubbles the Clown. and face painting for the kids!  But that wasn’t all… The Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce urged attendees to bring canned foods and other donations for victims of the recent storms and local residents did not disappoint! As Iberia Bank is based out of Louisiana, the menu was distinctly Cajun!  Shrimp Jambalaya, Fried Jumbo Shrimp, Fried Catfish, and Seafood Kickers were among the items served to those in attendance. For those not feeling “spicy,” we also had a “Food Truck” on hand serving up hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken kabobs, coleslaw, and potato chips – So there was definitely something for everyone! An old New Orleans favorite, Bread Pudding, was offered for dessert… Though the cotton candy tree proved to be just as popular – Especially with all the kids!!! It was truly a wonderful event and we couldn’t be happier for our the newest business in Vestavia Hills as any time a firm of any kind expands in Alabama it’s a win for ALL OF US!!! Congratulations and welcome to Iberia Bank. Thanks for letting Kathy G & Company be a part of your big...

Wine Tasting & Tornado Relief

Friday, May 6th, was very exciting for all of us on the Kathy G team as Birmingham-based International Wines visited our very own venue, Park Lane, for a special wine tasting event.  Showcasing the Dalla Terra Portfolio, International Wines invited more than 100 guests and donated a portion of the proceeds from wines purchased to local disaster relief. The gorgeous 30-foot Oak bar at Park Lane was the perfect place for such an occasion as there were wines for every taste and every budget. Guests were be busy all evening – Tasting wines at several different stations throughout the gorgeous venue. In between sips, attendees sampled offerings from the Kathy G kitchen. Cheese displays with Flatbreads & Crackers, Crostinis with toppings of Tapenade, Mission Fig Puree with Herbed Goat Cheese, and classic homemade Bruschetta with Tomato & Virgin Olive Oil were enjoyed by all. It was a most exciting event and much thanks goes out to International Wines, Park Lane Event Coordinator Mary Jones, and all the guests who stopped by. The affair was so successful we’re thinking about planning another wine tasting real soon!!! Clair & John: A Relocated Affair to Remember

Clair & John: A Relocated Affair to Remember

The gorgeous Clair Weaver and her dashing fiance, John Hanson, were to be married last Saturday at the Swan Lake Barn in Cahaba Heights, but the tornadoes that struck earlier in the week made that impossible.  Everyone knows that moving a dinner party from one home to another down the block is a daunting task, but fining a new venue and dealing with the logistics for a entire wedding – with more than 250 expected guests –  would require a minor miracle. Enter wedding planner Neillie Butler of Gather Events and the Mountain Brook Club to the rescue! The Mountain Brook Club turned lemons into lemonade, saving the day for our fab couple in allowing the venue change on less than three days notice. Cheers to their wonderful team for bending over backwards to help make Clair and John’s big day go off as planned. And Neillie Butler of Gather Events truly proved her worth – and then some – this week.  Working the phones, coordinating countless last minute changes, and just being there for everyone during the crazed final 72 hours leading up to the wedding, Neillie showed exactly why she’s one of the best planners in all the South. Finally, 5PM Saturday arrived and the stunning couple was married at the Church of the Advent before moving on the The Mountain Brook Club for a 5:45PM reception. Kathy G’s famous Shrimp & Grits station proved to be a big hit with all attendees. Guests also enjoyed Mini BLT’s with Apple-Smoked Bacon, Ham-n-Biscuits, and Asparagus wrapped in Prosciutto. Also on the menu were Almond-Crusted Chicken Bites, Goat Cheese Logs with assorted Crackers & Pita Chips, a Fresh Fruit Display, and a fantastic Tortellini Salad. Barb Sullivan of Barb’s Cakes, once again wowed the KG Team and guests alike – Providing a pair of magnificent cakes that were as delicious as they were gorgeous. Spectacular lighting by Andy Tolar of Design Productions and fab florals by KG Designs’ own Andy Hopper made The Club truly amazing. “The Andy’s” had very little time to adjust their game plan with the change of venues, but you’d never know if from all the compliments their work received all night long. It was truly a remarkable week capped off by a most magical wedding – Proving that no dilemma is too much to handle with a little teamwork and lots of determination. MUCH thanks to the Mountain Brook Club for being so accommodating in Clair and John’s time of need. And congratulations again to the cutest couple you’ve ever seen. You were true champions during a crazy week and it’s our most sincere wish that you live happily ever...
